Pricing Guide for Custom Book Printing

Politics & Prose Opus Pricing Guide

Politics & Prose offers three Custom Printing Packages, but customers may also order design and layout services on an a la carte basis, depending on their needs.  Below is a list of the prices for various options, and what is included in each case.

One-Time Set-Up - $20

·         Cursory review of your already prepared PDFs to ensure they’re appropriately formatted.

·         Uploading of your work to Opus.

·         No proof copy.

·         We print the quantity you request, but delete your files when done. We will retain your files indefinitely for an additional $20.

Basic Set-Up - $99

·         Informational meeting or phone call.

·         Review of your files to ensure they’re appropriately formatted.

·         Basic PDF alterations, if needed.

·         A copyright page, if requested.

·         Template Cover & choice of one cover color.

·         Uploading of your work to Opus.

·         One free proof copy.

·         One free upload of revisions.

·         We keep your files indefinitely for future printing, if you wish.

·         Discounts on many of our design and layout services (See individual service listings for details).

Deluxe Set-Up - $299

·         Everything in our Standard Set-Up, plus…

·         Anything in our Individual Services menu.

·         The support of our staff through every step of the printing process.

Printing Costs

·          In addition to our Set-Up fees, we charge $7 per book printed, plus 2 cents per page. For example, a 100 page book will cost $9 to print.

·         We do offer discounts for bulk printing, as follows:

·         30+ copies | 10% off
·         75+ copies | 15% off
·         200+ copies | 20% off

Consignment

We do offer to display in the store the books of those who use Opus. To take advantage of this service, a customer needs to be a member of Politics & Prose. Subject to approval, we will shelve your book in our in-store self-published books section, and display it on our website, for 90 days. You set the sales price, and Politics & Prose will collect 20% of the sales price of any books sold. If your book sells, we will print another one for the shelf. We reserve the right to print multiple copies if we consider it necessary. After 90 days, we may choose to renew your contract.

Individual Printing Services
